What is it like being a Paramedic in SCDF?

After my visit to the Central Fire Station and the chance to talk to a paramedic, I realized a fact that most of you might be unaware of.
Did you know that ambulances that are activated through numbers like 995 and 1777 are dispatched from the fire stations instead of the hospitals?
After talking more with the paramedic, Ricky, I began to understand his role in SCDF and also his passion for the job.
While Ricky may claim that he does not have any exciting stories to share about his 6 years in SCDF as a seasoned paramedic, he has did things like aiding a pregnant woman give birth in the ambulance while on the way to a hospital! We can say that paramedics save lives but he ‘gave life’ as well!
If you are looking for a non-desk bound job filled with excitement and a meaningful job then you should really consider signing up as a paramedic with the SCDF. Ricky gets to see different things and places, go on overseas missions with the DART team and basically be in a job that makes a real difference in the lives of others.
So if you have a similar passion and an interest in becoming a paramedic, head down to SCDF’s recruitment website at http://pea.to/scdf5 and make a difference!
