Noise Singapore 2015 Festival Exhibition
October 03, 2015For the past one year, I've been visiting various museums and exhibitions in Singapore or even when I’m travelling overseas. It definitely changed my perspective and made my love and appreciation for arts grew stronger than before. I think partly it is also due to my friends around me are more and more conscious about design, architecture and perspective which influenced me bit by bit.
I was a design student before and I'm more inclined towards the creative side since I was young. The interest towards the arts was in me all along, and not just for the past one year. But it is only until the past year that I got to appreciate arts a little more in a different perspective. I'm happy to see that Singapore is also progressively embracing and promoting the arts culture, so we all get to expose to it more than before. Below are some of the exhibitions and museums that I've been to for the past year:
Genesis - Sebastião Salgado at National Museum of Singapore.
245 black and white images taken in over 30 locations.
Bangkok Art & Culture Centre.
Another photography exhibition that captures the local hero and nature.
And after that, I slowly look at things in different perspective and started to capture images in different way.
Louvre Museum in Paris.
Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
Centre Pompidou in Paris.
National Gallery and Tate Modern in London.
I didn't realise that I went to so many exhibitions and museums because there are still a lot more that I didn't mention it up here. This year, I'm really excited to go to Noise Singapore 2015 Festival Exhibition because they are turning 10 (Happy Birthday!) and they are celebrating with an exciting series of free exhibitions and concerts from 16 September to 8 November!
Yay to free exhibitions and concerts for all of us! :D
I'm always interested to attend Noise Singapore Festival Exhibition because they actually provide numerous platforms to express, develop and showcase the creative talent of young people aged 35 and below. Randy had one of his photography works that was being exhibited previously for the exhibition too, really proud of him! I've been attending Noise Singapore Festival Exhibition since 2010 and although for some years in-between I didn't managed to attend as I was overseas, I'm definitely going this year because it is really nice to have a platform for young people in Singapore to actively participate and nurture their relationship with the arts. I'm looking forward to see all the original creations and be inspired by emerging artists and musicians in Singapore. Support local talents!
I also hope people can slowly change their perspective towards arts and understand arts is subjective and emotional. Like this painting that I did before. Many of my friends thinks that I'm just splattering the paints all over the canvas but what they do not see is the underlying message and emotions and was put into this piece of art. Art is art, there is no definition.
I think Noise Singapore 2015 Festival is an event for everyone, especially photographers and artists. It is always nice to learn and expose ourselves more to the arts and see the world in different perspective that you used to see it in.
