Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum
March 21, 2016Went to Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum yesterday and spent my whole afternoon there. The museum is located in NUS (I'm sure most of you didn't know!) and the architecture of the building is actually pretty cool. I took photo there previously, you can see it here on my Instagram. Finally managed to visit it because the other time I went down, I was too late and they were closing in an hour's time. So I thought there's no point to go in and rush through all the exhibit but I would rather take my time and slowly appreciate them.
I find it funny how I used to feel indifferent about museums before, and even funnier how it kinda gradually changed over the past 2 years. I think I wouldn't even thought of spending one of my weekend afternoon visiting a museum 2 years back. Now even when I'm travelling, I'll make sure to allocate some time to visit their local museums too. Oh how much I've changed? At least it's for the better! ;)
Love the feeling when I stepped into a museum. The museum is not crowded at all, prefect for taking our time to slowly view, learn and appreciate all the biodiversity collection in there.
Fungi.
She sells sea-shells on the sea-shore.
Looking at the beautiful see-shells.
Eh okay can. *creep out*
Dinosaurs!!!
Went up to take a full view of it! I love dinosaurs (partly due to the movie franchise haha)!
Picture with it! I tried to take a few downstairs too but all it shows is me with random some bones behind haha, so this is better! Did you managed to see all the BTS footage on Snapchat? (username: typicalben)
Reptiles.
The museum is also good for taking pictures too!
Love this section!
How amazing! I spent few minutes just staring at this.
And this.
And also this omg!
I also particularly like the sperm whale display, which we were told was newly added! It's quite sad to see that they actually found plastic cups and waste in the stomach when it died. Why would people throw litter into the sea anyway? :/ We need to stop all these pollution to save the wildlife, if not more of them are going to be extinct soon. I had a great enriching weekend and I hope you all had fun too! ;)
